Dog Attacks Child in Chicago

Comments Off

A five year old girl waiting for the school bus this morning was attacked by a pit bull. She was taken to Holy Cross Hospital after the incident. The police then began a search and were able to track the pit bull down. They found the dog covered in the girl’s blood.

The 5 year old suffered various injuries including bites to her face and her body, a gash in her head and her hair had been pulled out. The outgoing happy girl was not talking after the incident and was believe to be in shock.

Several pit bulls have been the subject of attacks in the Chicagoland area. It is believed that many of these pit bulls are being raised for fighting, which causes these pit bulls to be increasingly aggressive and dangerous. It took two adults in this instance to remove the dog from the little girl. Dog fighting is illegal in Illinois and there have been investigations into these underground fights. However, currently, training of these dogs and fights continue.
