Thirty-three year old Everardo Morales was killed when he stopped to help another motorist on Chicago’s Interstate Highway 94. Morales was struck by the trailer of a truck and pronounced dead at the scene. The truck driver was not ticketed.

The accident occurred at a very congested area of the highway just before it merges with the Dan Ryan expressway. Further investigation is necessary to determine if the truck driver is responsible for the death of Morales. The fact that the truck driver did not receive a ticket at the scene does not necessarily mean that he or the truck company cannot be held responsible for the death of Morales.
