Child and Grandmother Hit by Car and Killed

It was originally reported that the only fatality to this Chicago car accident was that of a young child. It is now being reported that not only did a child tragically die after being struck by a car as she was entering a crosswalk, but her grandmother has also died. Police are also now reporting that the driver of the car was not intoxicated, however, he did try to flee the scene on foot but was captured. The other child, a cousin, that was also entering the crosswalk when she was struck by the car, is still hospitalized. As the story of this tragedy continues to unfold, a memorial continues to grow at the site of the accident.
