As previously posted, a school bus crashed Monday morning killing one pedestrian and injuring eight others. It has now been reported that the 76 year old bus driver, Jerry Moncrease, has been charged with DUI and involuntary manslaughter.

At this time it appears that Moncrease was the cause of the accident and civil charges may follow the criminal charges. Those injured in the accident and the family of Antoine Bolden may be able to file lawsuits against Moncrease and the bus company he was working for at the time of the accident. Bolden’s family may be entitled to recover for the wrongful death of Bolden, while those injured may be able to recover for medical bills and pain and suffering caused by the accident. Those involved in the incident should contact an attorney to find out what legal action they make take.
