A five year old girl died in a car accident on Friday when she was riding in the car with her brother and mother at U.S. Highway 41 and Indiana 114. The girl’s mother was driving the car when it collided with a Mack dump truck. The girl was airlifted to the University of Chicago Hospital to try and save her life. The girl’s brother and mother were treated and released from the Jasper County Hospital.

There is no information at this time on whether the truck driverwas at fault or the mother. If the truck driver is at fault, the family of the girl may be able to file a wrongful death suit against the truck driver and his employer if he was working at the time of the accident.
