The family of a former New York City police officer who died three years ago has filed a nursing home neglect lawsuit against Brooklyn’s Metropolitan Jewish Geriatric Center.

Abraham Ticknor lived at the nursing home from the time he suffered a stroke in the mid 1990s until his death in 2003.

His daughter says that beginning in March 2003, the geriatric center did nothing to prevent massive bed sores from developing, and at one point even put a shoe over a foot ulcer.

In what is possibly the most disturbing allegation, Skier claims in legal papers that Ticknor had some sort of “phone-like” cord inserted into his rectum at Maimonides, and that it remained there for days.

The nursing home has been cited before for negligent care resulting in bedsores. It was fined $4000 by the Department of Health in 2001.
