Early Thursday morning a Union Pacfic Freight train was involved in an accident with a Metra train. The two trains were near the downtown Chicago train station when the Union Pacific train backed into the Metra train. The Metra train was not moving at the time of the accident.

As a result of the accident the first passenger car on the Metra train derailed but it did not fall over. The train had approximately 55 passengers at the time of the accident but only seven were injured. The seven passengers are said to be in good condition at this time.
