Another lawsuit was filed recently against Guidant Corporation, the maker of an implantable defibrillator that has been the subject of a recall. A Bismark, North Dakota woman filed a wrongful death lawsuit against Guidant alleging that her husband died because of a defect in his defibrillator. The man had the defibrillator for approximately two months when he died of a lethal arrhythmia.

Guidant and Medtronics have both been named defendants in numerous lawsuits due to defects in their defibrillators. Many people have had to go through surgery to have a faulty defibrillator removed and have a new one implanted. However, some victims were not notified in time and have died as a result of the defect.

If you have or had a Guidant or Medtronic defibrillator that has been recalled you may be able to take legal action against the manufacturer of the defibrillator and you should contact an attorney immediately.
