An Illinois State Trooper who was arresting a drunk driver on the Eisenhower expressway on Sunday was hit by another drunk driver. Reinda Dade, was driving on the expressway when his car rear ended the State Trooper’s car. The State Trooper had a suspected drunk driver in the back of his vehicle at the time, and he was in the front seat. Both were injured and transported to local hospitals.

The first suspected drunk driver was likely to have more injuries than the trooper because he was in the back of the car. The officer had his lights on at the time of the accident. Dade may be charged criminally with felony DUI but he is also likely to face a civil suit for injuries suffered by the police officer and the person in the back of the officer’s car.
