Jerry Moncrease, a school bus driver who previously was charged for the death of a pedestrian, appeared in court today. Moncrease admitted to authorities that he drank whiskey before he drove the children to school the morning of the crash. After he dropped the children he drank a six pack of beer and then the horrific crash occurred killing one and injuring several others.

Moncrease works for Bryden Transportation Company, which services Chicago Public Schools. It is likely Moncrease and Bryden will face several civil suits from those injured in the accident and from Antoine Bolden’s family. Antoine Bolden was a 22 year old pedestrian that was killed in the crash. He was hit by an SUV that the bus crashed into while it was going an estimated 50 to 70 miles per hour.
