Early Friday morning a Volvo crashed on Lake Shore Drive at Balbo. Five people were critically injured as a result of the crash and were taken to area hospitals including Northwestern Memorial Hospital, Cook County Hospital and Mount Sinai Hospital. There was no immediate report as to what caused the crash, but it appears that no other vehicles were involved.
If the cause of the crash is a result of the driver’s negligence, then the passengers may be able to recover monetary damages from the driver. The passengers may be able to recover for medical bills, lost income as a result of missing work, pain and suffering, as well as for other reasons. Any time a passenger is involved in a car accident he/she may have the right to seek legal action against the party at fault, and therefore, should seek out an attorney immediately.
