Three college students were killed in a car accident early Wednesday morning after their car hit a cement pillar on Lower Wacker Drive.  Witnesses said that the car was traveling at a high rate of speed but there have been no reports yet determining the cause of the accident.  It could be possible that the City failed to properly renovate the road.  Parts of Lower Wacker were renovated in 2002, but the site of this accident had not been worked on since it was built in the 1970s.

The areas that were improved in 2002 have only seen 2 fatal accidents in the past four plus years.  As the investigation unfolds the city of Chicago may find itself having to answer some very tough questions.
