Southwest Airlines settled a wrongful death lawsuit that was filed after Joshua Woods was killed on December 8, 2005. Joshua was riding with his family in the car when a Southwest plane skidded across the runaway at Midway airport and through a fence into traffic. The plane crashed into the Woods’ car and killed Joshua.
The family has only settled with Southwest and not with Boeing, the manufacturer of the plane. No information has been released regarding the amount of the settlement. The settlement hopefully brings some closure to this family’s tragic loss.
